OVERVIEW

The Michelangelo Antonioni Archive is part of the collections of the Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries of the Municipality of Ferrara. Following the purchase of the director's personal archive by the spouses Michelangelo and Enrica Antonioni, the municipal administration worked to establish a monographic museum dedicated to the filmmaker.

In 2006 it became necessary to close the Museum for reasons of extraordinary maintenance and bringing the structure up to standard. At the same time, it was decided to integrate the Antonioni Museum within the museum complex of Palazzo Massari for which a substantial restoration intervention was planned.
